SCHERTZ, FLORENCE Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Lagrone Funeral Chapel for Florence Schertz, age 96 of Roswell, who passed away May 8, 2009. Pastor Tim Aguilar of Church on the Move will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery

Florence was born on April 13, 1913 in Sherman, Texas to Winnie Johnson and Jake Morgan. They have preceded her in death.

Florence married Ernest Schertz on August 13, 1932 in Marietta, Oklahoma. He has also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Roy Schertz, three brothers and three sisters.

Florence is survived by son Bill Schertz and his wife Wanda Joyce of North Richland Hills, Texas; one daughter, Wanda Harvey of Old Fort, North Carolina; two sisters Mae Saley and husband Don of Downey, California, and Edna Platt of Durant, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren: Mary Ann Schertz, Beverly June Hawthorne, Steve Harvey, Brenda Hawkins, Kathy Williams, Benny Coursey, Carl Coursey, and Jimmy Dale Coursey. Also, 16 great- grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Robert Hawthorne, Chris Nieto, Steve Harvey, Jaime Harvey, James Paul Norton, Christopher Glen Norton, and Ryan Nieto.

She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.
