MC DONALD, FRED B. -- Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church, for Fred B. McDonald, age 70, of Roswell, who passed away April 1, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rev. Archie Echols of First United Methodist Church and Rev. Ruth Fowler of Trinity United Methodist Church will conduct the service. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Fred was born July 25, 1936 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Matterson and Eddye Elizabeth Hairston McDonald. His parents have preceded him in death.
He married Nancy Crawford on June 8, 1965 in Hereford, Texas. Nancy survives him at the family home.
Other survivors include a son, Matt McDonald and his wife Emily of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by many Foster Children; Les, Frank, Mike, Matt, Connie, Antonia, Peter, Joey, Michael and Stephanie.
Fred had lived many years in Roswell, and was a Minister. He was well liked and will be remembered
as a caring friend and Father. Fred retired as Superintendent of Roswell Independent School District in 1986, then retired from the United Methodist Church as a Minister, serving congregations in Elida, Floyd, Hagerman and Dexter.
Friends may make memorials to the Cowboy Bell Scholarship at First United Methodist Church, or the Assurance Home.
