GARLINGER, GEORGE W.

Services are scheduled for 10:00 A. M., Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Assumption Catholic Church for George W. Garlinger, age 79, of Roswell, NM, who passed away February 14, 2007. Fr. Bill McCann of Assumption Catholic Church will officiate.

George W. Garlinger, loving husband, father, brother and friend passed BRaway at home on February 14, 2007. He was born on February 12, 1928 in BRSan Bernadino, CA. George joined the USAF in 1945, and married his BRbeloved wife, Mona Marie Storlie on September 16, 1948 at Walker AFB, BRRoswell, NM. George worked as an EE and Radar Technician in his 23 years BRof service in the military, served his country in the Korean War, and BRwas truly one of the Greatest Generation. After retirement from the BRAir Force, he continued his electronics and mechanical engineering BRcareer with KBIM Radio, the NMMI, and retired as Assistant Airport BRManager from the City of Roswell in 1991. BRBRGeorge truly faced life's challenges with Love, Truth, and Dignity; BRalways showing great compassion for others, friends and strangers alike. BRHe was preceded in death by his parents; John J and Lois A Garlinger, BRsister, Marjorie Watson; and his loving sons, John J and Thomas L BRGarlinger. BRBRHe is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mona; sons George W. BRGarlinger, Jr. and wife Pamela; Charles Garlinger and wife Valerie; and BRDavid L. Garlinger all of Roswell; as well as, son Robert A Garlinger BRand wife Cathy of Edgewood, NM, and daughter, Carol A Sutt and her BRhusband Juri, of Richardson, TX; two brothers, John J Garlinger and Earl BRA Garlinger of Bentonville, AR; eleven grandchildren and two great BRgrandchildren. We will forever honor and cherish the memory of such a BRwonderful man.
