Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th, 6 PM at Congregation BNai Israel, for George Leshnov, age 93, of Roswell, who passed away on October 20, 2011. George was born June 10, 1918 in Montreal, Canada to Jacob and Rachel Leshnov who preceded him in death. George was one of five children. The family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when George was a child. George married his high school sweetheart Beatrice on June 15, 1940 in Philadelphia, who survives him. He and Beatrice later moved to Roswell in 2004 to be near their daughter Shelly and her family. George is survived by his son Michael Leshnov and his wife, Janis daughter Beverly Rosen and her husband, Gerson daughter Shelly Currier and her husband, Charles. Grandchildren are Andrew and Rachael Leshnov, Paul and Mitchell Rosen, and Jennifer Currier. There are eleven great grandchildren.
George served his country in the United States Army during the Second World War in both Japan and the Philippines. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and BPOE Elks 461. He worked for the IRS. George loved to entertain, both singing and impersonating celebrities that delighted his audience. Both he and Beatrice also loved dancing and won many dance competitions. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
