Geraldine Howden

Geraldine (Jerry) Howden died peacefully in the home of her daughter Sue on June 26, 2015 at the age of 89. Jerry is survived by three daughters. Sue and husband John Friberg of Mesquite, TX, Donna and husband Joe Conaway of Valley Mills, TX, and Jean and Britt Snyder of Roswell, NM. Jerry is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Jerry is preceded in death by her husband John Howden.

Jerry was born December 18, 1925 in Evansville, IN to Sue and Allen Coale. Jerry attended Southern Illinois University where she met John, her husband of 62 years. Jerry was a loving and giving woman that surrounded herself with family and friends. Jerry took great pride and joy in the accomplishments and successes of her daughters and grandchildren. Jerry and John enjoyed a great life of traveling together with the many acquaintances that became lifelong friends. They enjoyed early married life in Wood River, IL before moving to Corpus Christi, TX where she worked as a legal secretary and executive assistant to the district attorney. Jerry and John moved to Ruidoso, NM where they spent the majority of their married life in the construction business accumulating a wealth of happiness and friends before retiring in Roswell, NM.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, with a rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM.
