A rosary will be recited 8:30 am, Saturday, August 22, 2015 for Geronimo "Jerry" Aragon, age 60, of Roswell, who passed away August 19, 2015. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 am, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow at General Douglas MeBride Veteran's Cemetery.
Geronimo "Jerry" "Aragon went to be with our heavenly father after battling a 22 year illness, he passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family.
Jerry was born to Francisco and Catarina Perez Aragon on February 7, 1955 in Roswell, NM. He was married to Anna Aragon for 37 years and together had two children. Jerry served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. He worked for the City of Roswell for 24 years. Jerry was an electrical contractor and the owner of Aragon Electric, Co.
He loved to go fishing, camping and being around his family and friends. Jerry was very involved with his children in baseball, soccer, girl scouts, cheerleading, gymnastics, boy scouts, church retreats and was a part of Miss Minnie's production of the Nutcracker. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.
Jerry is survived by his spouse Anna, son, Jeromy J. Aragon; daughter, Alexis M. Aragon; grandsons, Jerron Kayn Aragon and Joshua Wayne Aragon; daughter in law, Ashton Aragon; sister, Martina Aragon of Albuquerque; four brothers-in-law; two sister-in-laws, that he considered his brothers and sisters. Many nieces, nephews and other family and friends that he loved dearly and would do anything for them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Augustin Aragon, Domingo (Sunday) Aragon, Manuel P. Aragon and Jose A. Aragon; sisters, Virgilia Montoya, Dolores Garcia Aragon and Simona Aragon.
Pallbearers will be Celestino Gonzales, Manuel A. Aragon, Alex S. Smith, Alex Ogas, Mago Jimenez, Danny Melendez and Adam Romero.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Arthur C. Smith, Robert C. Long, Paul L. Sorensen, Cheryl Martinez (the Professor), David Pauley, Augustine Aragon and Joseph (Bito) Smith.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Pinon and his staff, Dr. Fredrick French and his staff, Gentiva Hospice, Joanna Smith and Betty Vale for helping care for him at home.
Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corp Funeral Honor, the Roswell Veteran's Honor Guard.
Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
