She was an unconventional young lady who enjoyed life to the fullest. She always had a ready smile and loved to laugh. She enjoyed cruising garage sales, watching TV, game shows and sit-coms, looking at catalogs, listening to up-beat rockn roll, and going for car rides. She loved eating out, especially Chicken McNuggets, and had her favorite table at Martins Capital Caf where she could watch people come and go. She loved being involved in everything. She loved shopping, dancing, horse-back riding, going for walks, and participated in Special Olympics where she won many ribbons and medals. Although, she became wheel-chair bound, she remained active through the Tobosa Development Program where she volunteered at the Animal Refuge, St. Peters, Elianza, Casa Maria, Mission Arch, Los Positos, and baked cookies at the Boys and Girls Club.
Her family wishes to thank the Roswell Police and Fire Departments, Paramedics and EMTs for their prompt response and their caring and professional attitudes. They also wish to thank the staff and Carrie Flury PA-C, and Dr. Karen Vaillant M.D. at La Familia for their care and compassion for Gerri during the last year. Most of all they wish to thank all of her friends at Tobosa who cared for her and loved her as much as they do.
Also, they wish to thank all the people Gerri had contact with out in the community who made her life richer.
