Heaven gained another angel on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 after Glenda passed away unexpectedly at her home. Glenda was born on September 26, 1966 to Tudy and Glenn Barnett in Roswell, NM. She was a graduate of GHS and a lifelong resident of Roswell. She held various jobs after high school and truly enjoyed her job as a decorator at Christmas by Krebs, and was a care-giver for many years.
Glenda's family was her whole world. Her parents, sons, and 5 grand-kids were her pride and joy. She could always be found at Daniel and Erik's sporting events cheering them on and later at her grand-kids games. She loved going camping, hunting and fishing with her family. Her grand-kids have many fun and special memories of their "Gigi" and especially that she always made them "S'mores" every time they camped out.
Her favorite hobby was baking delicious desserts, crafting and making special gifts for her whole family on all holidays and their birthdays. She had more talent in her little finger than 10 people had and could literally make the most beautiful wreaths, candy bouquets and floral arrangements out of almost nothing!
Glenda's passion was creating awesome silk flower arrangements and she enjoyed making the floral bouquets, corsages and decorating the church and reception halls for several weddings including her sons.
Although she spent long hours crafting, it was never "work'', it was truly a labor of love. Not only did she enjoy every minute, she told many people that her dream was to one day own her own flower shop and be able to sell her beautiful creations.
Glenda was a very devoted member of Church on the Move and told everyone how much she loved her church family, friends and Pastor. She had many friends who knew they could ask for her help day or night, and no matter how bad she felt, she was there for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Glenda was preceded in death by her Mother, Tudy Barnett, both sets of grandparents, her brother Tom Barnett, her Uncle Bill Daniel, & Uncle Charlie Daniel. Also passing before her were many aunts and uncles who are surely welcoming her into Heaven.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are both sons and their spouses: Daniel Martinez and Sarah of Hobbs; Erik Martinez and Tori of Artesia; her Dad Glenn Barnett and wife Judy of Roswell. Also surviving is her nephew, Kyle Barnett of Roswell, (who was like a son to her). Also surviving her 5 grand-children, who were the loves of her life are: Lexie, Kassie, Juni, Brody Martinez of Hobbs; her newest little love is 2 month old Madalynn of Artesia. Glenda is also survived by many aunts, uncles & cousins who were very special to her.
The family wishes to thank Barbara Cullins & Vanessa Cullins-Luiz who have always been there for Glenda & the family. We deeply appreciate all the outpouring of love & support from everyone at this time.
The pallbearers will be, Kyle Barnett, John Brown, Bubba Daniel, Rodger Daniel, Sam Salas & Clay Woody. Honorary pallbearers will be: Her sons, Daniel and Erik, her Dad, Glenn, & all 5 of her precious grand-children.
Immediately following the Celebration of Life at LaGrones, Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. After that, all family and friends are invited to join us for potluck about 1 p.m. at Trinity House of Praise, 510 S. Montana (Corner of Sunset and Montana).
