Gloria F. Andrus was born in Iota, Louisiana on June 2, 1935 to Andrew and Lillie Mae Frey and raised on a rice farm in South Louisiana.
Gloria passed away at the age of 86 in El Paso, Texas Saturday, November 20, 2021.
Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a retired hospital administrator for Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana where she spent 35 years. After moving to Roswell, NM she helped in the family business and moved to Capitan, NM in 2006. Gloria cherished the time that she got to spend with her greatgrandchildren, with her patented back scratching always being requested! She loved living in the mountains the last years of her life watching deer and elk feeding in her front yard. She will always be remembered as a kind, gentle soul. "PEACE BE WITH YOU MOM".
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Lillie Mae Frey, her husband Stanley
Andrus and grandson Jesse Andrus. Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Randy Andrus,
Marc Andrus and wife Kathy, and Daryl Andrus. Granddaughter Brenna Chaves and her husband Aldo, grandsons Landon Andrus and Kagan Andrus, great-grandson Jaxton Chaves and great granddaughter Ava Chaves. Brother Robert Frey and wife Maxine and sister Evelyn Miller and husband Charles, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
We would like to thank the many friends Gloria made in Capitan that helped her when she needed it and also the staff at UMC El Paso for the compassion that they showed her.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around
You and whispered, “come to me”
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
