CALLENS, HELEN LOUISE YATER Helen Louise Yater Callens, age 91, formally of Roswell, passed away on September 21, 2014. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at South Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
Louise was born December 12, 1922 in Lorriane, TX to W.M. and Esther L. Hunt Yater. She grew up in Big Springs, TX and graduated from high school in 1941.
She met Dick Callens there, while he was a flight instructor at the airport. They were married on April 26, 1942 at the Church of Christ in Big Springs, TX. They moved to Roswell where Dick became airport manager and ran a flying service. Louise was a former member of Country Club Road Church of Christ, she moved to Dallas, TX in 2007 to live by her daughter. She lived there until her death.
She is survived by her son Dwight Callens and his wife Sandra Guitar Callens and their children, Lara King and her husband Lamar King and their children Ashley, Jacob and Annalysa King all of Meridian, MS. Mr. David Callens and his wife Kate Callens of Hebron, KY. A daughter, Lyndah Callens Drum of Dallas, TX. And her children a son Hayden Drum and his wife Laura Drum of Houston, TX and their child Ashley Drum. A daughter Ahndrea Drum Gamboa and her husband Christan Gamboa of Dallas, TX.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dick Callens and a sister Jean Yater.
