Helen Dennis

DENNIS, HELEN On Saturday, December 21, 2013, our beautiful mother Helen Dennis went to dance with the angels. A memorial graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at South Park Cemetery. Jeremy Dennis will officiate.

Born on October 8, 1932 in Earth Texas, her parents brought her to Roswell around 1937 in a covered wagon. She shared many memories with her family about growing up, one that stands out is having measles under a tree in what is now Cahoon Park.

She married the love of her life, Bill Dennis, in 1960 and they raised six children together. Together they ran Bills Upholstery Shop for over 25 years. Gardening and painting were two of her passions, but first was her family.

She is survived by her daughters: Terry Hix and her husband Frank of Lucerne, California, Sara Russell and her husband Michael of Las Cruces, Bobbie Gaona and husband Pete of Stinson, Texas Sons: Bill Dennis and his wife Carol of Roswell and Hank Dennis and his wife Teresa of Tennessee Sisters: Evelyn Landry of Roswell, Pat York of Roswell, and Barbara Chenoweth of Portales Brothers: Robert Mabry and his wife Barbara of Roswell, Wayne Mabry and wife Margaret of San Diego Grandchildren: Tammy and Franklin, Kelly, Steven, Phillip, Renae, Allison, Desiree, Leslie, Leann, Sherry, Jeremey, Michael, Teresa, Melissa Great Grandchildren: William, Jake, Tony, Josh, Courtney, Alisha, Elena, Alicia, Brandon and Aiden Great Great Grandchildren: Noah, Isaac, Elijah, Chanel, Alonzo and one to be born very soon Numerous nieces and nephews, including her niece and namesake, Helen Ruth Landry Also Ginger, her little dog.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, Wendell and Ruby Mabry, husband Bill , son: Curtis Wayne Dennis, granddaughter: Shannon Marie Dennis, and nephew: Christopher York.
