Irene Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, IRENE BOWERY A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Irene Bowery Montgomery, age 62, of Roswell who passed away on October 24, 2013. Her brother Cecil Bowery of Skyline Baptist Church will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Irene was born September 3, 1951 in Friona, Texas to Joe Allen Bowery, Jr and Mamie Jane Magness. They have preceded her in death as well as two brothers, Charlie and Andy Bowery.

Irene married Scott Montgomery on September 19, 1990 in Farwell, Texas. He survives her at the family home.

Irene is also survived by three sons: Chuck and Jenny Hammit of Albuquerque, NM, Bob Hammit of Clovis, NM and Scott Montgomery of Roswell daughter: Chrissy Montgomery of Roswell two brothers: Joe Allen Bowery, III of Brenham, TX and Cecil and Becky Bowery of Dickinson, TX sister: Bessie and Tim Engram of Texico, New Mexico three grandchildren: Andrew, Bryce and Abby and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene was a retired licensed Massage Therapist. She loved gardening, sewing, was an excellent cook and she loved to decorate for the holidays. She collected country and western dcor, especially chickens and roosters. Irene was always there for anyone that needed help.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Bowery, Michael Bowery, Gene Ervin, Steve Powell, Robert Smyzenski and Gary Skipper. Honorary Pallbearers are all of her beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Irenes name to the St. Jude Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
