Jack Burger

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at South Park Cemetery for Jack Burger, age 78, of Roswell, who passed away on September 19, 2015. Pastor Richard Smith of Highland Baptist Church will officiate. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Chaves County Joy Center, 1822 N Montana Ave, Roswell, NM.

Jack was born in Spur, TX to Hubert and Virgie Burger on July 7, 1937. He was the youngest of four children. Jack was a musician who played professionally with various artists, all of his life. He was a high school football coach at Azle, TX, for 3 years. He was a Roswell resident since 2000, serving as the public announcer for the Chaves County Joy Center and an avid music ministry volunteer at Casa Maria Health Care Center and Beehive Homes. Jack was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Texas Old Time Fiddlers Association and a Mason. He was a lifetime member of The Shriners and of the American Historical Society.

He leaves behind a wife Linda, sons, Jackie Burger and his wife Darlene of Galveston, TX; Danny Burger and his wife Brooke of Kansas City, MO; Bobby Burger and his wife Kathy of Livermore, CA; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dick "Brownie" Browning.

Memorials may be made in Jack's name to the General Scholarship Fund at Texas Christian University, 2800 S University Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76129.
