Jack Box

BOX, JACK O Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2201 W. Country Club Rd, Roswell, NM for Jack O. Box, 85. Pres. Ignacio Luevano will be officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Jack was born in Roswell, NM, on July, 31, 1929 to Olaf and Edna Bryant Box. He married Lois Hatch in El Paso, TX on January 11, 1948.

Jack was a lifetime resident and businessman for 67 years in Roswell, founder of Box Crane. He was well known for the size of his heart, the size of his hands and his firm handshake. Jack never knew a stranger, and was always willing to help. Everyone knew him as the candyman at church. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Olaf and Edna Box, son Reed Walter Box and granddaughter Jennifer Elaine Swepston.

He is survived by his wife Lois Hatch Box, sons Jack W. Box of Roswell and Patrick M. and his wife Marlene Box of Pleasant Grove, UT, daughters Sue Ann Price and her husband Rodney of Roswell, NM, Kimberly Lynn Hendricks and her husband Derrick of Roswell, NM, Sara Leigh Shaw and her husband Roy of Roswell, NM, and Carol Jean Bare Kelley and her husband Gary of Clovis, NM, brotherinlaws A.R. Medaris and his wife Jean of Roswell, NM, and J. Brent Hatch and his wife Sharon of Showlow, AZ, nieces Kathleen Shaw, Tammy Dorwart and her husband Tony, nephews Alan Medaris and his wife Anna Louise, Tadd Hatch and his wife Nancy, grandchildren Douglas Shaw and his wife Rene, Leslie Ybarra and her husband Rick, Lindsey Rogers and her husband Brad, Jay Box, Emily Cox and her husband Chris, Spencer Box and his wife Allison, Rachael Hales and her husband Aaron, Chris Price and his wife Angie, Ryan Price, Cory Price and his wife Tiffany, Kerri L.
