James Blakeney

BLAKENEY, JAMES C. SHOT No services are scheduled for this time for James C. Shot Blakeney, age 72, of Roswell, who passed away December 23, 2006 at his residence.

Shot was born March 20, 1934 in Artesia, New Mexico to John Allen and Rose Marie Blakeney, they preceded him in death as well as a brother, Allen Lee Blakeney.

Shot married Shirley Jo France on June 12, 1953 in Alamogordo, NM.

Shot is survived by his loving wife of 53 years: Shirley Jo Blakeney; a son: Allen and his wife Susan Blakeney; Daughters: Judy McCabe, Jennifer Carroll and her husband Eugene; grandchildren: Amber Blakeney, Jubal McCabe and Darcy McCabe all of Roswell; sisters: Josephine Blankenship and her husband Bob of La Luz, NM, June Hamrick and her husband Rayford of Hobbs, NM., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shot spent most of his life in Southeastern, NM working on various ranches and doing what he enjoyed most ridin a good horse. His greatest love and inspiration in life was his family, especially thru his battle with cancer.
