James Collins

COLLINS, JAMES OMER Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at South Park Cemetery for James Omer Collins, age 60, of Roswell, who passed away July 25, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Associate Pastor Lonnie Owens of Christs Church will officiate.

James was born February 12, 1948 in Peru, Indiana to Earnest William Smith and Mabel Eileen Heckathorn. He was adopted by William Darwin Collins. They both preceded him in death.

James is survived by his brothers: Robert Collins and his wife Jane of Mesquite, Texas and William Collins and his wife Robin of Roswell; daughters: Deanna Contreras and her husband Tommy of Dexter and Heather Pollard and her husband David of Artesia; grandchildren: Mackenzi Contreras, Aaron Pollard, Zachary Pollard, Kolbyn Pollard, Bryce Pollard, and Madyson Pollard: Deborah Jones former wife and mother of his children; Nieces and Nephews: Susan Johnson, April Wiebenga, Billy Collins, Jenny Adams, Cole Collins and Bobby Collins and numerous great nieces and nephews.

James graduated from Roswell High School. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He worked the cotton gins, and TMCNova bus for 23 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
