James Eaton

VAN EATON, JAMES FREDERICK FRED Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday February 21, 2012 at South Park Cemetery for James Frederick Fred Van Eaton, age 55, who passed away at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Rod Price and Derrick Hendricks of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate.
Fred was born on October 29, 1956 in Roswell, New Mexico to Miller Ray and Mary Louise Van Eaton. His mother preceded him in death. He was the third eldest of six children. He graduated from Goddard High School in 1974 with many awards from Cross Country.
He married Barbara Sue Waggoner on March 29, 1986 in Roswell, New Mexico. She survives him at the family home.
He is also survived by his daughters: Rebecca Suzanne Frederick and her husband Lee, and their daughter Lena Marie of Roswell, and Katie Ann Kleinert and her husband Falk of Provo, Utah his father: Miller Ray Van Eaton his siblings: Mary Diane Baker and husband David, Larry Van Eaton and his wife Virginia Ginny, Paul Van Eaton and his wife Anne, Roberta Hinshaw and husband Steve, and Karen Elmore.
Fred was quiet but of quick wit. He was glad to share his stories of camping with his family, card games with Sally Archuleta, skiing with Avalanche Larry, fishing trips with his friends, and the general trouble he caused over the years.
He accepted any challenge that was thrown his way. He succeeded in many of them, but most of all in his family. Fred dearly loved his wife and daughters. He adored his granddaughter who was the only person that could make him smile instantaneously.
The best we can do is wake up every morning and say, Im going to do the best I can to do the right thing even if isnt easy or popular. Then wake up the next day and do it again.
Pall Bearers will be: Richard Snuffy Hunt, Vern Newlin, Bernabe Urbina, Tim Hedgecock, Lee Frederick, and Falk Kleinert.
Honorary Pall Bearers are: Brothers and BrothersinLaw, Nieces and Nephews, Larry Led Marker, Jim Kennon, Tommy Preston, and Jack Hedgecock.
