James Garner

Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for James Russell Garner, age 78 of Roswell, New Mexico, who passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center.

James, known to most as Pug, was born in Chickalah, Arkansas on August 26, 1934. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many, and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed playing dominos, the game 42 for 35 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved golf and anything automotive. He loved to dance and he loved being with family and spending special time with friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Grace Garner, brother, Sonny Garner, and his daughter, Connie Dickey.

He is survived by three daughters, Marilynn Green of Corrigan,TX, Teresa Celey of Hutto,TX, and Deborah McKinstryWaldrop of Roswell,NM, nine grandchildren, Michelle Smitherman of Lufkin,TX, Kelly Chandler of Corrigan,TX, Brenda Leeseburg of San Antonio,TX, Brandy Maxwell of Pampa,TX, Dawn Allen of Springfield,IL, Fayerene Hunt of Midland,TX, Tammy Brooks of Midland,TX and James Watkins of Midland,TX, twentyone great grandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild.
