Nolan was born October 17, 1929 in Iraan, Texas to Henry Clinton and Maudie Dell Smith-Knight. Shortly after Nolan went into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country in the Korean War. When he returned home, he was a supervisor for twenty-five years with Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Nolan retired in 1980 and then established his own business KL Enterprises, Inc. The company specialized in building fiber optic telephone systems in multiple states, and it eventually evolved into a commercial electrical company servicing the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and was still active in the Roswell office at the time of his death. Nolan was a kind, gentle, and loving family man who put his wife and daughters first. He never had a harsh word for anyone and lived his life with compassion for others as well as a deep love for animals.
