Janet lived in Roswell NM most of her life and graduated from Goddard High School in 1968. Janet was very popular and always had so many friends. Janet worked at various things out of high school but ultimately her love and devotion was to being a mother and wife. Janet co-owned and ran J&J trucking with Johnnie Russell for many many years. She could read the atlas and dispatch her drivers like no one else could. J&J Trucking hauled freight for all the Alco stores. She was loved and respected by all who worked for her. So often you would find her out helping with the cleaning and mechanic work on the trucks.J&J trucking was also part of HT Madsen trucking who was owned and run by parents H T Madsen and Lula Madsen. Along the way many amazing relationships personal and professional were made, which were in part what made Janet who she was. Janet had an incredible gift at making people around her feel loved and welcome. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always helping others. She always made everything better no matter what the situation was.. She had a gentle and loving heart and if you knew Janet you were blessed beyond words. Janet loved her family and spent her life always putting them first. She was an amazing and devoted mother. Janet (AKA Gramsy) loved her grandsons Jacob and Caleb. They were her greatest joy. She spent countless hours watching football with them. Go Chiefs! She spent a lot of time playing with them and teaching them. She was their biggest fan and cheerleader. Outside of work and family Janet's hobbies were reading, cooking and she loved her Kansas City Chiefs. Janet also loved Elvis Presely. Janet's favorite Elivs song was Are you looking for trouble and Suspicious Minds. Janet was also very passionate about helping animals and became very active in doing animal rescue. She spent countless hours fostering dogs and cats for FFTF and Fora. Janet spent a lot of time working on transports for the animals to go to Colorado and helped with multiple events and fundraisers. In her time doing rescue she made countless everlasting friendships which meant the world to her. Most of all Janet loved God with a faith and passion that could not be broken. He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will abide in the shadow of the almighty, I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, My God in whom I trust. Psalms 91:1-2,. Janet was strong in her faith even when things were tough. Most that knew Janet also knew that she suffered daily with Lupus, Gastroparesis and other health issues. It didn’t matter how she felt she always had a smile on her face and she always made everyone feel loved. Janet was amazing and one of a kind. There is not enough time or paper to tell you how blessed we all were to have known her. She was truly an angel on this earth and a force of nature. She loved and advocated passionately for what she believed and loved. Although brief, our time with her will never be forgotten or taken for granted. Janets spirit will forever live on in the lives she touched which were many. Janet will forever be missed. Rest well my sweet Mama, until we meet again. A celebration of Janet's life will be held at First Baptist Church November 9th 2024 at 2:00PM. Following her celebration of life we will have drinks and dessert at Janet's family home . Be Blessed
