Jerry A. Hamilton, age 73, of Roswell passed away Saturday October 22, 2016. He will lie-instate 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM Wednesday October 26, 2016 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday October 27, 2016 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Pastor Aaron Colyer of First Baptist Church will be officiating.
Jerry was born to Paul and Valeria Hamilton on April 1, 1943 in Pueblo, Colorado, where he also grew up and graduated high school. Jerry moved to Roswell, NM in 1961. He worked at Betty K Flowers for 14 years and then he became a printer for Ink Spot until the shop closed. Jerry was a member of the Roswell Sertoma Club for over 50 years; he recently received his 50 year pin. He was a member of First Baptist Church and worked with the TV Ministry throughout the years he was there. Prior to his membership at First Baptist Church, he served as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church for several years. Jerry was active in auto mechanics and racing. Jerry was married to the love of his life Gwen Hamilton for almost 49 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Valeria Hamilton, and his sister Betty Karnes.
He is survived by his wife Gwen Hamilton of the family home; son David Alan Hamilton of Denver, CO; brother Don Hamilton and his wife Virginia of Colorado Springs, CO. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steve Halverson, Kenny Zuber, Terry Cleveland, Shawn Erwin, and Jack Smith.
He will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
