Graveside services for Joann Harrison, known as Jody to her family and friends, were held on Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016 at South Park Cemetery. She went to meet her Lord on March 19, 2016.
Jody was born May 10, 1931 in Ardmore, OK to Daniel L and Eleanor Jane Hoffman. She graduated in 1949 from Ardmore High School. Jody was a member of the Nazarene Church in Ardmore for many years. She married Charles L. Harrison on August 12, 1960 in Ardmore then making her home in Roswell for the remainder of her life. Jody worked 20 years for S.H. Kress both in Ardmore and Roswell, 10 years for G.F. Wackers, and 7 years for Ben Franklin where she managed stores in Roswell and Ruidoso. Her and her husband also owned and operated a thrift store in Roswell. Jody loved fishing with her husband, reading books of all kinds, and working puzzles. Her friends meant everything to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 6 sisters, and 1 brother.
She is survived by special nephews Jimmy Cox and his wife Pat of Ardmore, OK; David Harrison and his wife Jan of Lubbock, TX; as well as other family members that loved her, many called and came by to see her. Special friends Sybil Reynolds, Myrl West, George and Julia Reynolds.
The family would like to thank the staff at Casa Maria for the care they gave her the last several months of her life.
