Joanne Louise Rose, born October 25, 1925 in Erie, P.A, passed onto eternal life, May 6, 2015 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Joanne was born to Alice and Arthur (Jim) Rupp, who have preceded her in death.
Joanne graduated from Academy High School in Erie, P.A., St. Luke's School of Nursing, Cleveland, Ohio, Gannon University, Erie, PA and Edinboro State University, Edinboro, PA. Joanne had a very fulfilling career as an ER and an operating nurse at Hamot Hospital, Erie, PA and as a school nurse practitioner in the Erie public and parochial schools.
Joanne and her husband of 68 years, Harry, moved to Roswell in June of 1987 from Erie.
Joanne loved her church, St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was an active member, participating in many events and especially in the Altar Guild and Women of St. Andrews. She was a 63 year old member of P.E.O. She was a member of Chapter B, Roswell P.E.O. Tuesday Book Club and the South Park Cemetery Board and Retired Nurses Association of Roswell.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Harrison (Harry); sisters Carol (Ray) Bianchi of Lexington, KY and Sally (Brad) Pretti of Roswell; her son David (Bonnie) of Sudlersville, MD, his children Ben (Darice) of Atlanta GA, Abby (Sean) Klakring of Salisbury, MD, her daughter Anne (Erik) Eagleton of Winter Harbor, Maine, her children Melissa (Ramon) Garcia, Heidi (Cory) Collin of Albuquerque and Carol (Fernando) Ortiz of Highland Ranch, CO, a nephew; Dr. Kevin Kavanagh (Catherine) of Lexington, KY his children Sean (Jennifer), Scott (Laurie) and Lindsay Kavanagh and Kevin's grandchildren Mallory, Rowan, Keenan and Nicole; and her six great grandchildren, Kevin, Sophie, Ramon, Ethan, Kindred and Olivia. Joanne is also survived by her beloved dog, Andrew, as well as many special friends who blessed her life.
The family wishes to thank the staff at LaVilla Assisted Living for their loving kindness and care and Lovelace Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of her and her family.

A celebration of Joanne's life will take place Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with a reception to follow.
