CHRISMAN, JOE OWEN -- A Masonic Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 29, 2007, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Joe Owen Chrisman, age 66, of Roswell, who passed away March 25, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Arthur Tunnell, Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in New Mexico will officiate, assisted by Red Milner and the Roswell Low 12 Club.
Joe was born December 9, 1940 in Shenandoah, Iowa, to William T. and Grace Comstock Chrisman. His father preceded him in death. His mother Grace Chrisman Huddle survives him in Roswell.
He married Janis Marie Davidson on May 14, 1977 in Roswell. Janis survives him at the family home.
Other survivors include 2 sons; Joe Neal Chrisman of Norman, Oklahoma and Richard F. Davidson of Alamosa, Colorado and 2 daughters; Dana Kay Lott of Omaha, Nebraska and Beth Renee Isler of Rio Rancho, NM.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Cheryl Hunnicutt of Hockley, Texas and Bonnell Coulter of Flippen, Arkansas.
Joe had lived in Hamburg, IA, and then moved to Carlsbad in 1955. He retired as an Insurance Agent from Farmers Insurance Co. He was a member of Hondo Lodge 74, Valley Daylight Lodge 79, Scottish Rite Bodies of Las Cruces, and was a Shriner. He was a member of Scottish Rite Research Society, Southern California Research Lodge AF AM.
Joe served as Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in New Mexico during 2004 2005.
