John Howard

HOWARD, JOHN J.T. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2007 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for John J.T. Howard, Jr, age 86, of Roswell, who passed away March 10, 2007 at his home. His wishes were to be cremated. Nephew Michael Bergman will officiate with Masonic rites provided. All Master Masons please assemble at LaGrone Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m.

Viewing for family and friends will begin Friday.

Honorary pallbearers will be all Master Masons.

J.T. was born January 30, 1921 in Floydada, Texas to John T. and Minnie Howard. He is preceded in death by both of his parents.

J.T. married Elaine Shaw on December 12, 1941 in Roswell. BRShe survives him at the family home. He is also survived by a son, John and his wife Terry of Columbia, MO and two grandsons, Aavram and Corey; a daughter Kimberly Brown and her husband Don of Kalispell, MT and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

During WWII he served in the U.S. Army 93rd Ordnance Company in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Southern France and Germany. His company was among the first to reach and help rescue the prisoners at Dachau.

J.T. was a loving family man and they loved him dearly. He grew up in the Baptist faith. After marriage he attended Trinity Methodist Church with his family. He loved his Masonic work while he was active. He worked for Collier Energy as Executive Vice President of Land and liked working there very much. In earlier years he was a rancher and a realtor.

He loved being with his family and his many wonderful friends, and he is greatly missed.
