John Shurtleff

SHURTLEFF,, JOHN M, Graveside services are scheduled Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at South Park Cemetery for John M. Shurtleff, age 61, who passed away April 27, 2008 at the Las Vegas Behavioral health Institute. John was born on July 1, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa to the Rev. Paul and May Shurtleff, who precede him in death. John is survived by one sister, Ann Crowley of Urbandale, Iowa and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his close friends Terry and Linda Aiello.

John rose above his mental illness with grace and pose, and shared his kind and giving spirit with everyone he met. John was well cared for at LV Behavioral Health Institute and the compassionate staff became part of his extended family.

Pastor Terry Aiello of Grace Fellowship in Corona, NM will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church of Roswell where John and his parents attended.
