Jon Fielding Coll of Roswell passed away Friday morning February 17, 2017 at his home following a lengthy battle with Cancer. He was 79.
Jon was the 4th son born to Max W. Coll and Lillian Hinkle Coll on December 3, 1937 in Roswell. He graduated from Roswell High School in 1956 and graduated with a BS Degree from Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa in 1960. He completed his MS Degree from the University of Arizona at Tucson in 1961. Jon was employed as a stockbroker for 43 years and retired from Merrill Lynch in 2011. He was also a partner in Coll Brothers Oil since 1964. He loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, played golf and loved watching baseball. Jon was active in many community group and organizations throughout his life, often serving in leadership capacities. Jon was preceded in death by his parents and 2 of his brothers: Max W. Coll II and James N. Coll.
He is survived by his wife Theresa Marak Coll of the home and his brother Charles H. Coll and wife Linda of Roswell. Jon had 7 children, all surviving. Chris Coll of Lafayette, CA, Rick Coll of Roswell, Kimberly Coll Blanton of Noble, Ok, Kenneth Coll of Sherman Oaks, CA, Jon Coll II of San Antonio, TX, Michael Coll of Phoenix, AZ and Bradley Collett of Minneapolis, MN. He has 18 grandchildren and 6 great grands.
A private family service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Friends are invited to a public "Celebration of Life" reception from 2-5 pm that same afternoon at the Roswell Country Club.
