Juan Jaramillo

Juan Amadeo Jaramillo passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2021 at Casa Maria Nursing Center in Roswell, NM.  Juan was born in Anton Chico, NM on August 11th, 1934 to Felix Jaramillo and Rufina Lopez.  In his twenties, Juan worked as a cook and later a gas service installer for the city of Tucumcari, NM. He moved to Roswell with his wife and daughter in 1970 and worked as a city truck driver for twenty-five years.  He retired in 1996 from the city of Roswell, NM. He also lived in Washington State and in Colorado. He enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting with his friends & family, working on his rental houses, and going to the casinos when he could.  Juan was known for his friendliness.  He never met a stranger, and he would strike up a conversation with everyone he met.  He also was always willing to help anyone who needed help.  He loved babysitting his grandson Peyton. Juan kept everyone laughing with his great sense of humor.

He met his wife Mary Lucy Romero in 1965 and they remained together for 55 years. Juan is predeceased in death by his parents Felix Jaramillo and Rufina Padilla; his wife Mary Lucy Romero; his step-daughter Diana P. Salas; his brother Alfonso Jaramillo; his brother Ramon Jaramillo; his brother Felix Jaramillo; his sister Delfinia Montez; his sister Mary Urias; and his nephew Michael Jaramillo of Florida.  He is survived by his daughter Ruth David, son-in-law Edward N. David and their son Peyton; grand-daughter Brenda Ortiz and husband Chris Ortiz of Roswell and their children Natalie and Aubrey both of Ft. Worth, Texas; grand-daughter Sara Salas and her children Priscilla, Naomi and Arian of Roswell; Rebecca Salas and her son Daven of Ft. Worth; nieces Agnes Saenz and Teresa Urias both of Roswell; nephew Joseph Ramon Jaramillo and his wife Rose Jaramillo and their children Ramon Jaramillo, and Jennifer Detwiler all of Florida.
