Kay Duncan

Kay Frances Duncan was called home by her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2021 in Roswell, NM.

Memorial services will be held Friday, March 12th at 10:00am at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell, NM with Pastor Jack Ferguson officiating.

Fran was born in Roswell, NM on October 11, 1948 to father, John Beattie and mother, Ina Faye Burton Beattie.  She married Charles Bowen Duncan, Sr. on October 22, 1966 and was blessed with three sons.

Known to all as “Nanny” or “Nanny Fran”, she never met a stranger and was very kind to all.  She welcomed every person who ever entered her home and was a very generous person. If one was hungry, she fed them.  If one needed a sofa to rest for the night, her door was always open. Her legacy to live and laugh, be humble and kind, love unconditionally, and always forgive is an example to live by.

Fran was an amazing mother to her three sons, Charles Bowen Duncan, Jr, Gary Lynn Duncan, and Rick Darrel Duncan, Sr.  In addition, she helped raise so many others that she babysat over the years to include her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fran is survived by her sons, Charles Duncan, Jr of Roswell; Gary Duncan and wife Sarah of Roswell; her daughters by choice, Jessica Duncan Oldfield and husband Steve of Roswell; Jean Brink of Erie, PA; and Cynthia Duncan of Phoenix, AZ; siblings, Judy Brockway and husband Mike of Kiel, WI; Janice Beattie of Manitowoc, WI; Linda Skinkis and husband Tom of Little Chute, WI; Kathy Kovach and husband Mike of New Holstein, WI; Keith Beattie and wife Toni of Knightdale, NC; Susan Beattie of Brillion, WI; Donald Beattie and wife Amy of Reedsville, WI; Nancy Skinkis and husband Steven of Seligman, MO; sister-in-law Sheryl Beattie of Manitowoc, WI; Bobby Glass of Roswell, and Joy Peralta and husband Jody of Roswell, grandchildren Samantha Duncan of Erie, PA; David Duncan of Erie, PA; Ashley Menagh and husband Brandon of Roswell; Alexis Arias of Roswell; Rudy Duncan of Roswell; Courtney Duncan of San Angelo, TX; Kayla Duncan Minaya, Ernest Duncan, Bowen Duncan, Connor Duncan, and Ricky Duncan, Jr, all of Roswell, and great-grandchildren Jason Alvarez, Jr and Kane Menagh of Roswell; Noah Garcia, Isaac Garcia, and Elijah Garcia all of San Angelo, TX; Isaiah Duncan, Darrel Duncan, and Leyla Parker, all of Roswell; and Teagan Duncan of Killeen, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Duncan, Sr., youngest son, Rick Duncan, Sr., and brothers Robert Fogelman, Lester Glass, John Beattie, Bobby Duncan, Sr. and sisters Patsy Burton and Louise Wright.
