Larissa Louise Sentell
Larissa was called home to the Lord on February 5, 2024. She was born on February 18, 2001, in Roswell New Mexico to her mother Melanie Finch and father Gerald Sentell. Larissa attended local schools in Roswell. She was tested and found to have a genius IQ, due to which she was placed in a special program for gifted students. When she was 18 months old, she could name all the animals in the National Geographic Magazine. In fact, that was her favorite naptime story! She always loved to go to Sunday school and church with her grandmother, Stella Chapman. Her step grandfather, Jerry Chapman, was the pastor of their Church.
She always loved the song “Amazing Grace”. She sang it in church and at home with her mother, in fact, that was their song. Larissa loved the Lord even in her downtime. She and her mother used to pray together at night. She was baptized by the Sagebrush Church in Albuquerque about four months ago. While in Albuquerque she also obtained her GED. Larissa was very proud of this and so were we.
She had her daughter, Gabrielle, at a very young age. She was a good mother, and she loved her daughter “with all her heart”.
Larissa had beautiful eyes, one was green, and one was blue. She also had the most beautiful blonde hair. She was a beautiful person both inside and out, but do not make her angry! She had a hot temper, anyone who knew her could tell you. She was and is very loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Gabrielle Sentell and her parents, Melanie Finch and Gerald Sentell. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Laura Green and step grandfather, Richard Green, along with her great grandmother, Virginia Burt, and grandfather Tim Finch.
Surviving siblings include Nathaniel Sentell and Jessica Finch; her sister, Christy Sentell, and her partner David Salsberry; brothers Andrew, Christian and Aden Sentell; sister, Glory Sentell. Additional survivors include David Hoffman, step grandfather; aunt Geneva Clements and uncle Dion Sentell; great aunt Marci Snow and her partner Joe Williams; Cristin and Bobby Marshall; step great grandmother, Inez Green; step aunt Jeanne and her husband Kevin Raymer; step uncle Michael Green and his wife Geneva; great aunt Mary Flores; great uncle Eldon Dickenson; great uncle Albert Palmer. Larissa is survived by many, many more family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dominik Finch, and Layton Sentell; her grandfather, Jude Sentell; step grandfather, Jerry Chapman; great grandfather, Jack Burt; step great grandfather, Paul Green; great grandparents Joyce and Luther McCarty; grandfather, Frank Finch; great grand parents, Robert and Mary Dickenson.
Little girl, you have been called home by the Lord.
He must be looking for strong angels like you.
Pretty girl, I will never forget your smile.
It is engraved in my heart and mind forever.
Those who loved you are sad and that is okay.
In time, maybe someday, I’ll get to watch you, playing in the clouds with your big brother.
