Lewine Elizabeth Dillon, 86, joined our Lord and Savior on April 13th, 2008. She was born to Frank Nacke, Sr. and Theresa Rolling, January 15, 1921, in Remsen, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Vernon and Frank Jr., and two sons Robert and Ronald. She is survived by one sister Norma, who resides with her spouse, Charles Hawck, in Mount Vernon, Iowa and her son Wayne, who resides with his Spouse JJ of Roswell, four grand children Tommy, Paul, Anne, and Kevin and five great grand children James, Shanna, Shelby, Robert Lee, and Heidi.
Lewine was an avid Gardner, enjoyed working with the elderly, loved country gospel music and dancing. She attended St. Peters church and supported Charismatic Ministries. She was always willing to lend a helping hand anyone in need. Her best friend, to the end, was Duff Johnson. Duff will always be considered a part of the family. Although most of her friends have passed before her, a special few still visit her such as Olivia Paul Gonzalez from Las Cruces. Thank you for always taking time to visit with her each time you returned to Roswell to visit your family. And to those friends and family members, who gave support to Lewine while I was still in Dallas, I give you my must humble thanks for the care, love, and support rendered to her. We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Sara Grill for her gracious gift of time, love and commitment both to my mother and my wife during this difficult time. A big thanks to my friend David St. John for helping me with preparations to receive Mom home. Also, to Duff Johnson for your daily bedside visits, we thank you. You gave us a chance to take a break, run the errand or slow our pace. While these efforts might have appeared imperceptible, understand, to us, they were a huge gracious offering. To Drs. Stiller, French and Nelson, thank you for her care over the years. Finally, but certainly not least, let us thank the VISTA CARE TEAM. Each of you are extraordinary. You not only made her journey home to the Lord a little easier, your emotional and mental support will always be remembered. To Alice, Cindy, Dan, Carol, Ramona, Frances, Amy, Laura, Stacy, Tara, Angel, Cecil and the after hours staff, your care was tender, your commitment unwavering and your knowledge and skills unsurpassable.
In lieu of a formal memorial service there will only be honorary Paul Bearers: Tommy Dillon, Paul Dillon, Kevin Dillon, James Dillon, Robert Lee Dillon, and Duff Johnson. A notification of actual services will be addressed at a later date.
