Lillian Lee Kincheloe, age 103, born in Denver, Colorado, on December 19, 1903 to Lillie and Lee Dalton. She had 2 brothers, Charles Robert and Jack William and two sisters Nellie Blanch and Flonnie May. Lillian attended school in Wichita Kansas, graduating from Daque Business College. She married Benjamin Allen Kincheloe in Alva, Oklahoma on September 1, 1925. The couple farmed in Colorado and Kansas and homesteaded in the Estancia Valley of New Mexico in 1933. Lillian was a homemaker. She had two children, Dalton and Kathryn. When the children were grown, Lillian worked for the USASC office in Estancia. She also served a term as assessor of Torrance County, retiring to move to Roswell, New Mexico so her husband could be near their son and better doctors. Mr. Kincheloe died on February 6, 1973. Lillian moved to Tucson and lived with her daughter Kathryn and son-in-law, Kenneth Head in 1994. She is survived by her son-in-law, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents, siblings, son, daughter, daughter-in-law and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held in Roswell, NM on Monday November 5 at 11 AM at the La Grone Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Lillians name to the New Mexico Christian Childrens Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130 505 356 5372.
