Lillie Berry

February 14, 1912 — July 28, 2014

BERRY, LILLIE MAE Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at
South Park Cemetery, for Lillie Mae Berry, age 102, who passed away on July 28, 2014, at Mission Arch Care Center. Robert Vie will officiate.

Lillie Mae was born on February 14, 1912, in Hatton, Arkansas to E. L. and Ola Belle Henson. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, James Andrew Henson, Monta Clifton Henson, William Glen Henson, Waymon Dean Henson, Wayne Eugene Henson, and Lenord George Henson and her two sisters, Theodoshia Rosella Holmes and Vera Inez Vie.

She married Floyd E Berry on July 15, 1934 in Mission, Texas. They were married 67 years when Uncle Floyd passed away on September 25, 2001.
Although Aunt Mae had no children, she had numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. For many years Uncle Floyd and Aunt Mae would travel all over the country with their small travel trailer. Her kitchen reflected their travels by the number of plates from each state visited. It was during these many years that she kept a journal of all their adventures and her memories of their life. The journals were later brought together and prepared in a manuscript which was distributed to her large family.
Aunt Mae was an avid gardener and always took pride in her yard, garden and flowers.
She has been a resident of Roswell since 1971 having moved here from Oregon. Aunt Mae attended the First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for many years.
Aunt Mae will always be remembered for the smile on her face and the kind words that she always had. She lived her life with the love of the Lord and was a dedicated Christian Lady. She is in heaven above where she always wanted to be.
Many thanks go to the staff of Mission Arch Care Center for the attentive care over the many years that Lillie Mae was a resident over ten and a half years. And thanks to Gentiva Hospice for keeping her last days as comfortable as possible.

Condolences may be made online at www.lagronefuneralchapels.com

Arrangements will be under the direction of Lagrone Funeral Chapel.
