SMITH, LILY BETH Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 21, 2008 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church for Lily Beth Smith, who passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at a local care center. Fr. Bob Tally with St. Andrews Episcopal Church will officiate.

Beth was born on October 25, 1933, in Waxahachie, Texas to Cora and Loyd Samford, they both have preceded her in death. She was married to Thomas Burvin Smith, her devoted husband, in Dallas, Texas. Burvin predeceased her in February 1998.

Beth is survived by sons: Terry Smith and his wife Charlotte of Corsicana, Texas, and Ron Smith and his wife Debbi of Roswell; daughters: Carla Freeman and her husband Randy of Balch Springs, Texas, Diane Boling and her husband Ray of Albuquerque and Bari Bellicini and her husband Joseph of Roswell. Beth and Burvin had eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lou Ann Pevehouse and her husband Buddy, of Irving, Texas.

Also preceding Beth in death were two brothers, L.B. Samford and Tommie Samford, and her precious Granny.

After moving to Roswell in 1970, Beth was the secretary at St. Andrews Episcopal Church until her retirement in 1990. She and Burvin were very active, devoted members of their church family at St. Andrews.

In addition, Beth was a past president of the Roswell Altrusa Club, and was a board member of the Friends of the Roswell Public Library. She was an avid reader, and gave of herself lovingly to family and friends throughout her life.
