Linda Anderson, 79, went to her heavenly home on Friday, May 10, 2019 following a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family when her earthly body gave out. Linda's faith in God and her belief of spending eternity with God in heaven gave not only her, but her family and friends an incredible peace.
Linda was born on February 7, 1940 in Commerce, Texas to the late James and Juanita Terry. She moved to Roswell when her father was transferred here with Sears. She graduated from Roswell High School and later attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. Upon returning to Roswell after college, her friends introduced her to her future husband, William I. "Bill" Anderson. They were married on January 15, 1959 and had celebrated just over 60 years of marriage at the time of her death.
When choosing to work outside of the home, Linda was an administrative assistant in the oil and gas industry, an office manager for Dennis Engineering, that later became Dick Wright Engineering. She spent her later working years as an administrative assistant at Sunwest Bank and Bank of America here in Roswell. Whether working outside of the home or as a stay at home mom and wife, her priority was always to make her house a home for her family. She was very active in school activities, little league sports events and anything else her son, Barry, was involved in. Her family was a priority and her life reflected that. She also greatly enjoyed bowling in the women's leagues at the old Red Rooster Lanes here in Roswell and remained friends with many of the ladies that she bowled with.
Linda is survived by the love of her life- husband, Bill; her son Barry and his wife Cheryl; her youngest grandson Caden; and her oldest grandson Cody, his wife Rachael and soon to be born, Caleb, all of Roswell. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Juanita Terry.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 AM at Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero Rd. here in Roswell under the personal care of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Charles Butler, Bryan Butler, Caden Anderson, Cody Anderson, Ken Sanders, Alan Teel and Stan Bush. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the New Beginners Sunday School class at First Baptist Church of Roswell.
The family would also like to thank the doctors and staff of Kymera Roswell Cancer Treatment Center for their excellent care and compassion during her illness.
