Linda Stockley Weiler was born in Roswell, New Mexico on December 16, 1939. Her parents, Albert and Ruby Stockley, were early pioneers in the Pecos Valley and have predeceased her. Linda lived in Roswell all her life and graduated from Roswell High School with the class of 1958. Linda was married to Roger Weiler for 34 years. He passed away in 2003.
Surviving Linda are her daughters, Laura Bryant and husband, Mark, of Ruidoso, NM; Judy Buchanan of Houston, TX; Becky Smith of Roswell, NM; and her only son, Roger Weiler II and his wife, Rachel, of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her only sister, Marilyn Short and by several nieces and nephews.
Linda was also loved and survived by her special grandchildren, Megan Bryant Evans, Brittany Bryant Hall, Chelsey Renee Dennis, Billy Ray Smith, Sidney Celey Carpenter, Tyler Ross, Russell Ross, and Roxie Leanne Weiler.
Her life was made complete by the many great grand children she was blessed with; Paisley Ann, Madison Catherine, Scarlett Rose, Rainey Grace, Mary Elizabeth, Charlie Jeanine, Emaleya Kora, Brentleigh Jane, Emma Marie, Dolly Jae, Georgia Ann, Olivia Quynn, Victorya Rose and one grandson, Ty Zane.
Linda worked for Dr Frank English for many, many years. She was a local author, having written six historical books about early day Roswell houses and buildings she was a member of the Roswell genealogical society, a lifetime member of the Nazarene faith and a member of First United Methodist Church. One of her greatest joys was singing with her friends in the Silver Chords.
Linda loved and trusted the Lord with all her heart, soul, and might. One of her favorite sayings was “Be strong and of good courage and He will strengthen thine heart all ye that hope in the Lord.”
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 11 from 9AM-4PM.
A graveside service will take place Wednesday February 12, 2025 at 11AM at South Park Cemetery.
