RILEY, LORETTA RICKETSON Private Graveside Services for Loretta Ricketson Riley will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, January 5, 2015 at South Park Cemetery for family and close friends. A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church Monday, January 5, at 3:00pm with a reception to follow. Officiating will be Dr. Doug Mills and David Wilcox, longtime friend of the family. Loretta will lie in state on Sunday, Jaunary 4, 2015 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

Loretta was born on January 11, 1932 in Roswell, to Joseph Isaac Ricketson and V.O. Jones Ricketson Sharer. She was married to Jay B. Riley for 41 years, from 1962 until he preceded her in death on February 1, 2006.

Loretta was a lifelong resident of Roswell, graduating from Roswell High in 1949. She went to beauty school and worked as a beautician before marrying Jay and becoming his secretary for Jay Riley Construction Company.

She taught Sunday school at First Methodist over twentyfive years, and was active in La Sertoma and the Shrine Motor Patrol womens auxiliary. Loretta was a loyal friend to many including Lynn McElvaney for 68 years, Bettye Wooten for 74 years and Jean King for 80 years.

Over the years Loretta enjoyed baking, crafting and knitting as well as traveling with her husband, Jay. In recent years she loved to play cards with her many dear Roswell friends at the Senior Circle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother Wayne Eugene Ricketson.

She is survived by her daughter Cyd Riley Rogers of Austin, sons Jay Scott Riley of Albuquerque and Stuart Riley of Roswell, a sister Stephanie Allen Armstrong of Roswell grandchildren, Bryce Rogers of Cleburne TX, Blane Rogers of Duncanville TX, Brett Rogers of Cleburne TX, Kelsey Riley of Austin TX, Aryn Riley of Albuquerque NM great grandchildren, Brady Lila Rogers of Duncanville TX, Hayden Rogers of Cleburne TX, Maddie Brandon Tatum Rogers of Cleburne TX and two more on the way special nephews niece, Jim Riley of Phoenix AZ, Nathan Armstrong and Ashley Armstrong Garcia of Albuquerque NM first cousin Sue Cosby of Green Valley AZ and many many other nieces and nephews in California, Arizona, and Texas.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Rogers, Blane Rogers, Brett Rogers, Nathan Armstrong, Carlos Garcia and Mike Richardson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Riley, Eugene McElvaney, and Leonard Armstrong.

Loretta desired that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the favorite charity of choice or the Texas Future Problem Solving Program at www.txfpsp.org.

Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
