Lorraine Davis

She was a lifelong resident of Roswell born May 12, 1918 to Ray Don and Margie Day-Knox. She was part of a pioneering family that came to Roswell in a covered wagon. Lorraine is a graduate of Roswell High School with the class of 1936. She married William Howard Davis September 17, 1938 in Roswell. Howard was the love of her life, together they raised four children. She was a homemaker, a tailor/seamstress, and she was very active in the community. Lorraine was an active member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary; a Pink Lady at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center and she crocheted baby bonnets and blankets for the newborn babies. She was always active in the Baptist Faith at First Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church, she participated in the Senior Sunday School Class. Lorraine was the oldest woman in the Old Timers Reunion for the past several years.

Lorraine was the last surviving child out of the five who were born to her parents Ray Don and Margie Day-Knox. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband William Howard Davis; brother Melvin Knox; sisters Margaret Leake, Helen Day-Tays, Vella Mae Cole; grandsons Michael Anthony Pantuso and Cutter Howard Davis.

She is survived by sons Butch Davis and wife Vi of Los Lunas, NM; Dickie Davis and wife Pam of Roswell, NM; daughters Marjorie Pantuso and husband Phil of Roswell, NM; Janie Davis-Fugate and husband Michael of Roswell, NM; grandchildren Mark Pantuso, Lanie Smith, Morgan Davis, Christine Davis, Amber Brown, Cody Davis, Sean Davis, Michael James Fugate, Jessie Sipe; great grandchildren Brandon Pantuso, Joey Pantuso, Tyler Pantuso, Aiden Smith, David Brown, Delilah Fugate, Blake Fugate, Reese Fugate; great great grandchildren Hennalee Nelson Pantuso, Cohen Michael Pantuso. Also her faithful dog and companion "Amigo".

The family would like to say a special thank you to Lorraine's caregiver Jessie Mae Roberts and Dr. Reynaldo Martinez and his staff.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
