Evertson, Lottie Estell--- Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Lottie Estell Eddie Evertson. Rev. Gorton Smith will officiate. She passed away on January 9, 2009 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born October 28, 1923 in Hamilton County, Texas, at sixteen Eddie left home to attend Tarleton State College where she played forward for the Womens basketball team. During World War II, Eddie worked for Consolidated Vultee in Ft. Worth Texas performing the final electrical inspection on the B-24 Liberator bomber. After the war she married Les and had three children. When Les accepted a job with Caltex, the family moved to Indonesia and later Turkey. During those years they traveled throughout Southeast Asia and Europe. The family moved to Roswell in 1957 and Eddie moved to Las Cruces in 1972 where she was the housemother for the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority until 1991.

Eddie is survived by her three loving children, Mike Evertson and his wife Cris, Sandra Atkins and her husband Jack, Vicki Evertson and her husband Deke Austin, her brother, Thomas Corbett Edmondson, sisters Stella Lee and Bobbie Fleming, grandchildren, Will Hall, Jason Evertson, Jessica Atkins and Lindsey Cashion, her five great grandchildren, many caring nieces and nephews, adopted daughter Gwen Wolfe and many Zeta daughters. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Corbett Edmondson, mother, Maude May Cole Edmondson, a sister, Dorothy Mae Ham.

Eddie will be remembered as a caring woman who loved to cook and take care of others. She adored her two poodles, Henry and Tequila. Memorials or donations may be made to the Humane Society of Roswell or to a charity of your choice as per Eddies request.
