SINGLETON, LUERENZIEServices are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Church on the Move for Luerenzie Singleton, age 85, who passed away April 22, 2008 at her residence. Pastor Troy Smotherman with Church on the Move will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Luerenzie was born on April 5, 1923 in San Augustine, Texas to Angelo and Elizabeth Dupree. They both have preceded her in death as well as a son, Lonell Singleton, grandchildren: Tanessa LaNae Singleton, Jeremy Singleton, Ida Marie Dixon; a great granddaughter: Jennessa Tatiana Singleton; great grandson: Tyrone Eugene Singleton, four brothers, and six sisters.
On April 2, 1939, she married Lonzie Singleton in San Augustine, Texas. He survives her at the family home.
Luerenzie worked for Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in the Housekeeping Department for 23 years. She was a member of Church on the Move, Eastern Star and she was a Deaconess.
Lueranzie was a loving mother and wife. She not only mothered her 14 children abut numerous neighborhood children, and anyone her children brought home. She was a mother to all, and called mother by all. She was very active in her church always a servant in the Lord no matter where the need existed. She was faithful in every endeavor she under took, and successful in Gods grave and mercy.
She served her husband for 69 years as commanded by the Lord not only in love but in faithfulness as Godly and virtuous woman. She lived the life she spoke of. She will be sorely missed but will be seen by all as the Lord returns for his own. Until we meet again may we all be comforted by God for she is already resting in his arms. She is in his presence.
She is survived by sons: Marshall, Sylvester and his wife Shirley, Clarence Ray, John L. and his wife Deserrea Singleton all of Roswell, Curtis Singleton, Edward Singleton and his wife Snezhanna of Denver, CO , Samuel Singleton and his wife Rita of Pomona, CA; Daughters: Mary Dixon and her husband Louis, Regina Cheadle and her husband Clarence of Roswell, Liz Woodson of Richmond, VA, Mildred Andrews and her husband Bishop Charles of Beaumont, CA, Gaynell Wigington of Houston, TX, Cathy Singleton of Rio Rancho, NM; a sister: Jerri Lee Brooks of Hemphill, Texas; 48 grandchildren, 82 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Singleton, Terence Singleton, Aerial Singleton, Joshua Singleton, Micah Ray Singleton, Olajuwon Singleton Cheadle, Allan Singleton, and John L. Singleton II,
