Before her illness Lula enjoyed the family business, gardening, she was famous
for her pumpkins swimming, walking, baking and homemade crafts. She was involved in several bowling leagues, the Chaves County Extension Club and hospital auxiliary.
She taught Sunday school for years at South Manor Baptist Church. She enjoyed going out to eat and shopping with her friends and grandkids and going every week for 40 years to have her hair done by her special friend Rita Montoya. She enjoyed her days going to the joy center where she had many special friends. The most treasured things in her life were her husband Tom of 58 years, her children and her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandma and her grandchildren called her Grandma Precious. She was referred to as their guardian angel who always saw the best in all of them, like her grandson said, thank God for Grandmas rose colored glasses. She loved her Jesus and loved to praise him in song. She loved to sing and clap her small little hands, and praise his name.
She loved her church services at Mission Arch with volunteers from Church on the Move. She will be so deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Her illness changed her outward abilities but never her heart and spirit. Thank Jesus for the blessed assurance we will meet our precious Mom and Grandma one day again soon. Momma,n I will thank my God for every remembrance of you. Phil. 1:3

LETTING GO
The angels gathered near your bed
So very close to you
For they knew the pain suffering
That you were going through
I thought about so many things
As I held tightly to your hand
Oh, how I wished that you were strong
And happy once again
But your eyes were looking homeward
To that place beyond the sky
Where Jesus held His outstretched arms
It was time to say goodbye
I struggled with my selfish thoughts
For I wanted you to stay
So we could walk talk again
Like we did just yesterday
But Jesus knew the answer
And I knew He loved you so
So I gave to you lifes greatest gift
The gift to letting go
Now my heart will carry memories
Of the love you gave to me
Until we meet again in Heaven
Where the best is yet to be
