Mable Hutchens

HUTCHENS, MABLE C. -- Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Mable C. Hutchens, age 97 of Roswell, who passed away February 13, 2009 at a local care center. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. BRBRMable was born on February 9, 1912 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Charles and Sarah Reed, who have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

On March 9, 1932, she married Roy D. Hutchens in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She worked for many years as a teacher in Alamogordo, New Mexico. In 1974, she and Roy moved to Roswell. Roy passed away on December 6, 1993 after 61 years of marriage.

She is survived by two sons: Arlin R. Hutchens and Morse R. Hutchens, both of Irving, Texas; one daughter: Kay Lowery and her husband Robert of Roswell; eight grandchildren: Dennis and his wife Paula, Gary and his wife Deborah, Keith and his wife Rhonda, Royce and his wife Joann, Rebecca, Pamela, Shannon and her husband Jimmy, and Marla and her husband Melvin; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a special daughter, Susie Schoolcraft.

Pallbearers will be Dennis R. Hutchens, Gary E. Hutchens, Keith Hutchens, Melvin Anaya, Jimmy Long, and Robert Lowery.BRBRShe was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Rebeccah club.
