Margaret E. Grooms

Margaret Grooms passed away in Roswell, New Mexico on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 after a brave and stalwart battle with serious illness. Margaret was a fabulous mom, a great teacher, confidant, a wonderful friend and a loyal wife to her husband. She was a graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport, LA and was an educator her entire life. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband Buddy, her beloved grandson Stephen Andrew Grooms, her parents, James Chambers Williams, Jr. and Mary Thelma Robertson Williams, two brothers and two sisters, Marcus Clyde Williams and Lester Williams, Helen Williams Norris and Carolyn Williams Wheat. Margaret is survived by her two sons, Stephen E. Grooms and his wife Sharon and her granddaughter, Lauren Michelle Grooms, all of Cedar Park, TX, F. Andrew Grooms and his wife Deborah of Ruidoso, NM and , her grandson, Brian Thomas Grooms of Phoenix, AZ, brothers James Jack Williams III, , Robert Bo Williams, both of Shreveport, LA, and sisters Gladys Williams McKee of Cumberland, RI, Mary Williams Ziegler of Comfort, TX, Beth Williams Stough of Greenwood, LA and Gloria Williams Hearn, of Pineville, LA. Margaret is also survived by a stepson Dwight Grooms and former daughter in law and loving friend, Eileen M. Grooms, of Roswell, NM. Margaret loved God, animals, travel, gardening, great friends and meaningful conversations with people from all walks of life. Private Christian graveside services for family will be held at Memory of the Gardens cemetery, 4900 M cNutt Road, Santa Teresa, NM 88088 on Saturday, December 13th. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be sent to the Lincoln County Humane Society, 430 Gavilan Canyon Rd. Ruidoso, New Mexico 88345.
