HACKENBERGER, MARGARET A. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013, at La Grone Funeral Chapel, for Margaret A. Hackenberger, 90, of Roswell, who passed away on March 4, 2013. The Reverend Jim Bignell of Aldersgate United Methodist Church will officiate.
Margaret was born June 28, 1922, in Millerstown, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Lovina Troutman. She married Ernest R. Hackenberger on July 16, 1938 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by half brothers: Ernest Messimer, Eddie Messimer, David Messimer, Joe Messimer, Ralph Messimer brother Donald Troutman and granddaughter Nancy Gilbert. Margaret is survived by her daughter Carrol J. Dow and husband Tommy, of Roswell Two granddaughters, Cheryl Martinez and husband Ernesto, Tammy Roe and husband Arnold Twelve GreatGrandchildren, Dallas Gilbert and wife Tiffanie, Carrie Anaya and husband Orlando, Teresa Martinez, Grace Martinez, Catherine Martinez, Steven Martinez, Jacqueline Martinez, Michaela Martinez, Darci Roe, Abbi Roe, Connor Roe, Kaitlyn Roe Three Greatgreatgrandchildren, Hudson Gilbert, Emery Gilbert, Adrianne Vigil nephew Donald E. Troutman and wife Beverly and there daughters Alison and Alexis and many other relatives.
Margaret also known as Nannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed volunteering at various military base hospitals in the different places she lived. She loved and served the lord with her whole heart and whole being. Margaret enjoyed bible study, square dancing, knitting, bowling, playing card games, talking with family and friends, and traveling. Nannie treasured her time with her family and loved taking care of babies. She also enjoyed daily chats with her niece Darlene Morris. Nannie was adored and admired by her grandchildren. Margaret enjoyed meeting new people and loved life, she always had a huge smile on her face and her positive outlook was contagious. Nannies spirit will live on through her daughter and grandchildren who continue to be inspired by her and will cherish the many memories they have had with her. Margaret was a beautiful and strong woman who will be greatly missed by many.
