WESSEL, MARION -- A Memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, for Marion Wessel, age 78 of Roswell who passed away June 11, 2009 at her home. Retired Pastors Paul Johnson and Bill Hartman of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church will conduct the service.

Marion was born April 3, 1931 in Burin Newfoundland to Llewellyn and Eliza Fiander Vallis. Both parents preceded her in death.

She married Merwin O. Wessel on Jan. 16, 1953 in St. Johns Newfoundland. He passed away March 31, 1996.

Survivors include 3 sons; Richard Wessel and his wife Kathy of Grand Island, Nebraska, Brian Wessel and his wife Cynthia of Woodlands, Texas and Robert Wessel and his wife Jennifer of Denver, Colorado, 2 daughters; Pamela Caudill and her husband Steve of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Patricia Wessel of Woodbridge, Virginia. Also surviving is 1 brother, Robert Vallis of St. Johns Newfoundland, and a sister, Betty Smith of St. Johns, Newfoundland, and 6 grandchildren; James, Cole, Lindsay, Mathew, Jason and Chelsea.

Marion was a homemaker and a member of Pecos Valley Quilters Association.

Friends may make memorials in her memory to St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church.
