Marvin Borchelt

BORCHELT, MARVIN DALE Services are scheduled at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 8, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Marvin Dale Borchelt, age 76, of Roswell, who went to his heavenly home on January 4, 2010 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rev. Daniel Praeuner of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Roswell will conduct the service. Interment will be at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Mercedes, Texas, at a later date.

Marvin was born April 14, 1933 in Mercedes, Texas, to Martin August and Lillian Louise Drefke Borchelt. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mercedes on May 21, 1933. Marvin was a life long member of the Lutheran Church and faithfully served in many capacities.

Marvin married Barbara Young at Zion Lutheran Church in El Paso, Texas on September 1, 1956. She survives him at the family home.

He attended Texas A M College and served two years in the U. S. Army, during the Korean War.

After living and working in Texas, Colorado and Wisconsin, he and his family settled in New Mexico. The last 23 years of which was in Roswell, in a home he built himself. He worked for 25 years for Aid Association for Lutherans , then retired and worked selling realestate for Prudential and Coldwell Bankers until retiring this past summer.

In life second to his Lord and Savior, was his love for family and passion for fishing in the Montana mountains.

Other survivors include his son, Dale Borchelt and wife Elaina of Quakertown, PA daughters, Cindy Borchelt of Roswell, Stacy Huebner and husband Steve of Roswell, Marci Vautrot of Missoula, MT 10 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Friends may make memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran School.

Pallbearers will be Hugh Taylor, Eugene Peterson, Bill Follick, Hank Wunsch, Jacob Vautrot, Luke Huebner, Martin Huebner and Steve Huebner. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Huebner and Stephen Young.
