Mary Crow

April 1, 1920 — September 18, 2010

CROW, FRANKIE Mary Frances died peacefully on September 18, 2010 at the age of 90 in Palm Desert, California. Graveside services will be held on September 24 at 11:00 am, South Park Cemetery, Roswell, New Mexico. Her nephew, Reverend Frank Lasater of Weatherford, Texas will officiate.

Frankie was born on April 1, 1920 in Wylie, Texas. She was the fifth of seven children born to A.E. Douglas and Edna Townsend Douglas. She was raised in Texas and had many adventures and mishaps growing up in a large and boisterous family. During her lifetime she has lived in Texas, New Mexico and California. Everywhere she lived she blessed her family and friends with her dignity and grace.

Frankie married Elvin Crow in the spring of 1958. Elvin preceded her in death as well as her parents, two brothers and four sisters. She was a homemaker, a wonderful cook and an elegant entertainer. One of her granddaughters compiled a cookbook of her recipes and presented it to Frankie on her ninetieth birthday with the dedication that We have all been blessed by her witty sense of humor, her knack for storytelling and especially by her cooking. A daughter said of her, I realize that Mothers way of nurturing was to cook, cook and cook. She always made it appear so easy...no one felt unwelcome or was underfed. She cooked with joy and perhaps that was the secret to her success.

The greatest joy in Frankies life was her family. Her survivors include her daughters, Judie Cothrun and husband Richard of La Quinta, California, Caaren Struble and husband John of Dallas, Texas and stepson Bob Crow and wife Rozan of Roswell, New Mexico, ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brendon Cothrun of Scottsdale, Arizona, Cameron Trigg of Dallas, Texas, Chris Trigg of Woodland Hills, California and nephews, Ed Lasater of Odessa, Texas, Roger Lasater of Coalgate, Oklahoma and Andy Lasater of Odessa, Texas. Interment will be at South Park Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Odyssey VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 717 North Harwood, Suite 1500, Dallas, Texas 75201.
