NEFF, MARY GENEVA Geneva Neff passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center on Saturday, June 28, 2008.

Geneva was born in Ralls, Texas on November 17, 1927 to J.C. and Eula Edwards. Her family moved to Roswell in 1940 where she graduated from Roswell High School in 1946. Geneva married Edsel Neff Sr. on October 10, 1951. Geneva and Edsel had four children; Pam, Edsel Jr., Cecilia and Warren. Edsel Neff Sr. was a tile contractor and Geneva worked along side him for much of her married life. Geneva loved to play bingo and operated a concession at the Sertoma Club for over 15 years. She also loved to watch her grandchildren compete in all types of sports and was always their most vocal cheerleader and biggest fan. Geneva was a devoted mother and grandmother and her family was always her highest priority. She always found time to support and encourage them and never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She always sacrificed her needs to make sure that her family was taken care of and her family always knew they were loved.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Eula Edwards, two sisters, Doris Blancett and Illa Mae Washichek; and a brother, Glen Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edsel Neff Sr., who passed away June 21, 1983. Geneva is survived by a brother, Carl Edwards and his wife Eunice; four children: Pam Hunter and husband Wayne, their son Wayne McGuffin Jr., and wife Kim and daughter Emily of Atlanta, Georgia; Edsel Neff Jr., and wife Leaslee and their children Chris, Alycia and Cameron of Roswell; Cecilia Tavarez and her daughter Kristan Neff of Roswell; Warren Neff and wife Shona and their sons Brian, and Eric of Los Alamos.

Graveside services will be held at South Park Cemetery on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. with Danny Sons officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
