LINDSEY, MICHAEL ALLEN- Michael Allen Lindsey (Mike) passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the age of 59 due to Mytonic Dystrophy at his home. He was born in Deming, New Mexico on January 6, 1961 to Steve and Anita Lindsey. Mike had a great attitude of never giving up on hope and not complaining over all the years. His last words were to “try, try, try.”
Mike is survived by his mother, Anita Hartley; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Van Blessing; stepbrother, Ricky Hartley and his wife Terry of El Paso; Randy Hartley in Indiana. He has several nieces; Lindsey Blessing Parsons and her husband Josh and two great nephews Greyson and Harrison, Shannon Hartley and great nephew Gavin, Ryanne Hartley and great niece Willow. He had two nephews Warren Hartley and Zachary. He also had one living aunt and uncle, Art and Billie Sharp and numerous cousins in New Mexico and Texas. Mike left behind his best friend Curtis who called him frequently and lifted his spirits. Mike was blessed with a great stepfather, Charles Hartley who preceded him in death, father, Steve Lindsey, older brother Jerry Don Lindsey and Terry White.
Mike graduated from Goddard High School in 1979. His favorite pastime was watching sports and 70’s TV shows. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Mike enjoyed painting landscape scenery and won several ribbons at the fairgrounds. Mike was a member of the West Alameda Church of Christ, he loved attending services when he was able to go. Several church members, Harry and Brenda Tackett and others were good to come visit and converse with him.
Mike's family has decided not to have a funeral or memorial service due to the COVID-19 virus. He will be cremated, and his remains will reside at Grace Columbarium Pray Garden at Grace Community Church, Roswell, NM.
