Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, for Mildred Iris Anderson, age 95, of Austin, formerly of Roswell, who passed away February 14, 2008 in Austin, Texas. Robert Holcomb of First Baptist Church will conduct the service. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.BRBRMrs. Anderson was born March 26, 1912 in Cullman County, Alabama, to Robert and Laura Holcombe Dunlap.BRBRFor many years, Mildred was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, the Eastern New Mexico Hospital Auxiliary and the Chaves County Assistance League. She was also a member of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a gifted seamstress, beader, and quilter. She delighted in making beautiful ball gowns, wedding dresses and distinct clothing for her daughter and three granddaughters. Her hand-made quilts were displayed in Roswell and were recognized for their beauty and quality. They are now priceless treasures of her granddaughters and their children.BRBRMrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Anderson, her daughter, Laura Martin, sisters, Opal Lee and Billie Hood and brothers, Victor Dunlap, Robert K. Dunlap, Judson Dunlap, Fulmer Dunlap and Baker Dunlap.BRBRMrs. Anderson is survived by her three granddaughters, Kimberly and her husband Mark Maurer, of Granbury, Texas, and their two children Amanda and Matthew; Mauri and her husband Al Leo of Richardson, Texas, and her four children, Parker, Samuel, Greyson and Laura Sinclair; and Priscilla and her husband, Kevin, of San Antonio, Texas, and their two children, Christian and Hannah.BRBRMrs. Anderson also leaves behind many nieces and nephews of whom she was very close. Her nieces, Dianne Clees of Nipomo, California, and Jean Wride of Durango, Colorado, were like daughters to Mildred. She was very proud of all of her nephews and is survived by Joe Dunlap of Glencoe, Royce Lucky Dunlap of Glencoe, Robert Dunlap of Williamsberg, John Dunlap of Williamsberg, John Dunlap of Williamsberg, Jackie Caulkin of Hereford, Arizona, and Marian Thornton of Vado.
